But do you know when the Mangla Aarti (the early morning ritual) is performed at the Kashi Vishwanath Temple? Let’s explore all the details about it.

Kashi Vishwanath Temple: The Sacred Abode of Lord Shiva

Located in the city of Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh, the Kashi Vishwanath Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is stated in the ancient scriptures that Varanasi is the city of Baba (Lord Shiva). In simple terms, Varanasi is known as the holy city of Lord Shiva. The history of the Kashi Vishwanath Temple is centuries old. Over time, both Lord Vishnu and Lord Shiva resided in Varanasi. The temple is situated on the banks of the holy Ganga River.

It is believed that taking a dip in the Ganga River and visiting the Kashi Vishwanath Temple to offer prayers and seek blessings from Baba Vishwanath fulfills all wishes of the devotee. Moreover, it leads to the attainment of moksha (liberation) after death. Devotees from around the world have immense faith in the Kashi Vishwanath Temple. A large number of devotees visit Varanasi to seek the blessings of Lord Shiva, taking a holy dip in the Ganga as part of their pilgrimage.

Timing of Mangla Aarti

The Mangla Aarti at the Kashi Vishwanath Temple takes place every day during Brahma Muhurat, between 3:00 AM and 4:00 AM. The Mangla Aarti is performed an hour and a half before sunrise, during a time known as Brahma Muhurat. This period is considered extremely auspicious as it marks the time when darkness (night) starts to fade away, and all living beings, including humans, begin to wake up. The Mangla Aarti is performed during this time, and devotees are allowed to enter the temple for the ritual until 3:00 AM.

Significance of Mangla Aarti

According to religious beliefs, performing the Mangla Aarti brings prosperity and well-being into one’s life. It removes all types of obstacles and troubles, and through the blessings of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati, it enhances happiness and fortune. The aarti is said to fulfill every wish of the devotee. Many devotees participate in the Mangla Aarti to receive the divine blessings of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati.
