Participating households can reduce their electricity costs and potentially generate additional income by having solar panels installed on their rooftops, focusing on 1 crore Indian households with energy consumption below 300 units.
Eligibility of the scheme are
– The applicant must be an Indian citizen.
– Must own a house with a roof that is suitable for installing solar panels.
– The household must have a valid electricity connection.
– The household must not have availed of any other subsidy for solar panels
The current benchmark prices of the scheme offer a subsidy of ₹30,000 for a 1 kW system, ₹60,000 for a 2 kW system, and ₹78,000 for a 3 kW system or larger. You can apply for the scheme through the government website
