Kannada actor Kichcha Sudeep recently addressed the media regarding the arrest of fellow actor Darshan Thogudeepa in connection with the murder of Renukaswamy. Kichcha Sudeep emphasized the need for justice for Renukaswamy’s wife and unborn child and expressed his concern over the negative impact this case has had on the film industry.
Without directly naming Darshan, Kichcha Sudeep stated, “We are only aware of what the media is showing us because we are not going to the police station to get the information. It looks like the media and the police are working hard to uncover the truth. There’s no doubt about that.”
Kichcha Sudeep called for justice for the victim’s family, saying, “That family deserves justice. That girl deserves justice. Renukaswamy, who died on the streets, deserves justice. The unborn child deserves justice. Above all, everyone should have faith in justice, and justice should prevail in this case.”
He also expressed his concerns about the damage to the Kannada film industry’s reputation due to the case and subsequent arrest. “Everyone’s heart goes out to that family. The atmosphere doesn’t feel right. The film industry should get justice. All the blame seems to be placed on the film industry. The industry needs a clean chit. There are many artists involved. Cinema is not just one or two people. The film industry will be relieved if the culprit is punished,” Sudeep added.
It is noteworthy that Kichcha Sudeep and Darshan Thogudeepa were once close friends but had a falling out over irreconcilable differences.
Celebrated Kannada actor Darshan Thogudeepa, along with his partner Pavithra Gowda and 10 others, was arrested for their alleged involvement in the murder of Renukaswamy in Bengaluru. The victim had allegedly sent derogatory messages to Pavithra Gowda, which led to his abduction. Renukaswamy was later found dead at Sumanahalli Bridge in Bengaluru.
This case continues to be a significant development in the Kannada film industry, with many watching closely to see how justice will be served.
