Kerala Governor Arif Mohammed Khan garnered attention during his visit to Ayodhya, where he paid homage to the idol of Ram Lalla at the Ram Mandir. In a video shared on the Governor’s X handle, Arif Mohammed Khan was captured bowing before the revered deity amidst chants of ‘Jai Shree Ram’ in the background.
After his visit to the Ram Mandir, Governor Arif Mohammed Khan expressed his sentiments to reporters, stating that visiting Ayodhya and worshipping Lord Ram filled him with immense pride.
“I have visited Ayodhya twice in January, and the feeling remains unchanged. Every visit to Ayodhya is a source of happiness and pride for me. Worshipping Shriram here holds great significance,” PTI quoted Arif Mohammed Khan as saying.
The Ram Mandir was inaugurated for public visitation following the ‘pran pratishtha’ ceremony led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on January 22. The ceremony was attended by a multitude of individuals, including prominent personalities from various fields.
Governor Arif Mohammed Khan’s visit to Ayodhya also brings to light his previous remarks made at an event in January last year. He cited Sir Syed Ahmed Khan, emphasizing the inclusive nature of the term “Hindu” as a geographical rather than religious designation. Arif Mohammed Khan underscored the idea that anyone residing in India and partaking of its resources should be considered a Hindu, referencing Sir Syed Ahmed Khan’s perspective on the matter.
