In a significant humanitarian initiative, Qatar has joined hands with Turkey to facilitate the reunion of wounded Palestinians from the Gaza Strip with their families in Doha. This collaboration, announced by the both nations, aimed to alleviate the suffering of those affected by the conflict.
Elaborating on the details of the initiative, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar said, it falls under the comprehensive plan set forth by Qatar’s Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, which aims to provide medical assistance to 1,500 Palestinians from the Gaza Strip.
“The reunification of these individuals will not only bring them together with their loved ones but will also enable them to continue their treatment in a supportive environment,” the statement by the Foreign Ministry added.
Further, upon their arrival in Doha, the wounded Palestinians were warmly welcomed by dignitaries from both Qatar and Turkey. Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Qatar, Dr. Mustafa Goksu, and Director of the Office of the Minister of State for International Cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Hamad Yousuf Ahmed Rashid Al Maliki, extended their greetings and support to the arrivals.
Meanwhile, in a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA), Minister of State for International Cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Lolwah bint Rashid Al Khater, expressed Qatar’s profound gratitude to Turkey for its unwavering cooperation in overcoming logistical challenges and facilitating the reunification process of the wounded from the Gaza Strip with their relatives in Doha.
