New Delhi, 22 August : On the stand of the Karnataka government on the new National Education Policy (NEP), union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said on Tuesday that the statement of Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar was politically motivated.
Talking to reporters, Pradhan said that yesterday, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar announced that he would cancel the National Education Policy implemented in 2021. Objecting to Shivkumar’s statement, Pradhan said that his statement was politically motivated. By doing this, he wants to please his political masters in Delhi.
Pradhan asked whether Shivakumar did not want arrangements to be made to teach young children in Karnataka under the National Education Policy. Don’t they want Kannada children to be brought up through Karnataka’s story-telling games? Are they not in favour of teaching students in their mother tongue, Kannada? Do they want to deprive the youth of Karnataka of futuristic initiatives like NRF?
