A tragic incident unfolded in Patna, Bihar, as Saurabh Kumar, a young leader of the Janata Dal United (JDU), was fatally shot by unidentified assailants while returning from a wedding ceremony on Wednesday night.
According to police reports confirmed by India Today, the attack occurred late at night when Saurabh Kumar, accompanied by friends and family, was returning from a reception. Four assailants on motorcycles opened fire at Saurabh Kumar, fatally injuring him in the head and neck. Another individual sustained injuries in the attack but is reportedly in stable condition.
Superintendent of Police Bharat Soni stated that law enforcement authorities are actively investigating the incident. They are analyzing CCTV footage and collecting evidence to determine the motive and identify the perpetrators. SP Soni emphasized that all possible angles, including political and business relations, are being explored in the investigation.
The tragic incident has stirred outrage among JDU supporters, who gathered at the scene demanding swift and decisive action against those responsible for Kumar’s murder.
