Jammu & Kashmir BJP President Ravinder Raina commended the courage of the bus driver and conductor who lost their lives in a terrorist attack in Reasi district. Addressing reporters, Mr. Ravinder Raina condemned the attack, attributing it to “cowardly Pakistanis” and lamenting the loss of at least 10 lives with many others injured.
Paying tribute to the bravery of Vijay Kumar, the driver from Reasi, and Arun Kumar, the conductor from Katra, Mr. Raina highlighted their heroic actions in thwarting a major terrorist plot. He expressed solidarity with the families of the deceased, stating, “The whole country and Jammu & Kashmir are with them.”
Later, Mr. Ravinder Raina shared a video of his meeting with the families, reaffirming his condolences for their loss.
Meanwhile, Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir Manoj Sinha condemned the attack as a crime against humanity. He urged the public to trust in the courage of the security forces and J&K police, emphasizing the ongoing efforts to eliminate terrorism from the region.
Earlier, the Jammu & Kashmir police released a sketch of one of the attackers involved in the assault on a bus carrying pilgrims from the Shiv Khori shrine to Katra. The police announced a reward of ₹20 lakh for any valuable information leading to the apprehension of the terrorist.
The incident occurred on June 9 when terrorists targeted the bus in the Pouni area of Reasi district, which borders Rajouri district. The Jammu & Kashmir police have attributed the attack to the terrorist group Lashkar-e-Taiba and have launched an extensive investigation with 11 specialized teams.
