According to Vishnu Bhushan Mishra, the Chief Executive Officer of Kashi Vishwanath Temple, special provisions have been made to pay tribute to women and maternal strength on this significant day. He confirmed that women visiting the Kashi Vishwanath Dham on International Women’s Day will be granted priority access through Gate Number 4-B, along with small children accompanying them. Normally, this gate is designated for residents of Varanasi for one hour in the morning and one hour in the evening. However, on March 8, the access window will be extended throughout the day exclusively for women and children, making it easier for them to offer prayers and seek blessings without long waiting times.
The temple administration believes that this initiative reflects Indian traditions, which have long revered women as goddesses. Women hold a sacred and respected place in Indian culture, and various rituals, such as Matrivandan (worship of mothers), symbolize this belief.
