An IndiGo flight destined for Calicut was instructed to abort takeoff from Delhi by the Air Traffic Controller (ATC) due to safety concerns arising from a “go-around by another aircraft on the parallel runway.” The incident led to a delay in the departure of IndiGo flight 6E5913, originally scheduled for 7:10 pm, with the flight eventually departing at 11:03 pm.
Confirming the occurrence, IndiGo released a statement explaining that the ATC instructed the flight’s abortive action as a precautionary measure. The airline promptly transferred passengers to an alternative aircraft to minimize disruptions. Apologizing for any inconvenience caused, IndiGo assured assistance to affected passengers.
The incident involved an Air India flight, as indicated by IndiGo’s statement. However, Air India’s response to the incident is awaited.
This incident marks the latest in a series concerning IndiGo airlines. Earlier this month, a clash between passengers and IndiGo staff erupted at Rajkot International Airport due to a significant delay in the Rajkot-Mumbai flight. Passengers, frustrated by the extended wait, engaged in heated exchanges with airline personnel.
In another incident last month, an IndiGo flight bound for Ahmedabad had to return to Delhi due to landing gear issues. Additionally, in March, an IndiGo aircraft’s wingtip grazed an Air India Express plane’s wings at Kolkata airport, resulting in damage to both aircraft.
