Over 50 schools across Delhi and Noida were evacuated this morning following a series of bomb threats received via email, causing widespread concern among students, parents, and authorities. The bomb threats prompted immediate search operations by police and bomb squads but have so far not yielded any suspicious findings.
Among the first to receive the threats were Sanskriti School in Chanakyapuri, Mother Mary School in Mayur Vihar, and Delhi Public School in Dwarka. The threatening emails claimed that explosives had been planted on the premises, leading to the halting of ongoing exams and the evacuation of school buildings.
Delhi Police spokesperson Suman Nalwa urged calm, stating, “We are taking all appropriate measures at the schools which have received bomb threats. I request parents not to panic, as nothing suspicious has been found.” Police efforts to trace the sender and origin of the email continue, with the cyber cell actively involved in the investigation.
Visuals from the scene showed anxious parents rushing to schools to collect their children. The schools, including Mother Mary where an exam was underway, sent out urgent notifications to parents about the immediate evacuation.
Delhi Education Minister Atishi confirmed the situation and reiterated that no dangerous items had been found in any school. “Some schools have received bomb threats today morning. Students have been evacuated and those premises are being searched by Delhi Police. So far nothing has been found in any of the schools,” Atishi stated in a message on X (formerly Twitter).
This incident comes after a similar threat at Delhi Police School in RK Puram earlier in February, which was later deemed a hoax.
