In a clear diplomatic victory for India, a multi-party Indian delegation completed a successful tour of several countries, including Malaysia, despite Pakistan’s attempts to disrupt the visit under the guise of “Islamic solidarity.” According to top sources, Pakistan tried to pressure Malaysian authorities into cancelling the Indian delegation’s programmes, but Kuala Lumpur firmly rejected the interference. All engagements went ahead as scheduled, and the delegation received full support — a move being seen as a diplomatic rebuff to Islamabad.
Pakistan’s Pressure Tactics Fall Flat in Malaysia
The delegation, led by JDU MP Sanjay Jha, included representatives from across India’s political spectrum — BJP MPs Aparajita Sarangi, Brij Lal, Pradan Baruah, and Hemang Joshi; Trinamool’s Abhishek Banerjee; CPM’s John Brittas; Congress’s Salman Khurshid; and former diplomat Mohan Kumar. Sources say that during the Malaysia leg of the tour, the Pakistani embassy raised the Kashmir issue and urged local officials to cancel Indian engagements, but these efforts failed.
Despite the interference, Malaysia hosted the Indian delegation with full cooperation, marking a diplomatic setback for Pakistan. The visit was part of a wider international outreach, with the Indian delegation also travelling to Indonesia, South Korea, Japan, and Singapore. The objective was to present India’s perspective on the recent Pahalgam terror attack and highlight Pakistan’s continued involvement in cross-border terrorism.
Delegation Sends Unified Anti-Terror Message
Speaking to IANS upon returning to India, Sanjay Jha underlined four key takeaways from the trip. He said the delegation sent a unified message from all political parties that India stands together against terrorism. He added that every country visited strongly condemned the April 22 Pahalgam attack that killed 27 people, and offered condolences to the victims’ families.
He further clarified that India’s response — Operation Sindoor — only targeted terrorist bases in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, with precision and restraint. He also mentioned that civil operations in Jammu and Kashmir, including flight services and Cabinet meetings in Pahalgam, had resumed — a sign of improving ground realities.
CPM’s John Brittas said the delegation aimed to build international support for India’s fight against terror. BJP’s Aparajita Sarangi echoed similar sentiments, noting that their 14-day tour reinforced the fact that nations across the globe firmly stand with India and oppose terrorism in any form.
