Star Indian long jumper Murali Sreeshankar has recently undergone surgery on his injured knee, rendering him unable to compete in the upcoming Paris Olympics scheduled for July-August. The 25-year-old athlete, renowned for his achievements including a silver medal at both the Asian and Commonwealth Games, underwent the surgical procedure in Doha.

The surgery, performed by Dr. Bruno Olory at the Aspetar Hospital in Doha, was reported to be successful. Taking to Instagram, Murali Sreeshankar expressed gratitude for the support and well-wishes received during this challenging period. Remarkably, he shared that he was already walking a mere 18 hours after the surgery, indicating a positive initial recovery.

Murali Sreeshankar sustained the knee injury while training in Palakkad earlier this month, marking a setback in his athletic journey. The news comes as a disappointment for Indian sports enthusiasts who had high hopes for Murali Sreeshankar’s participation in the Paris Olympics.
