The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) has announced that the first allotment list for the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2025 will be released on December 26, 2024. Registered candidates can access the list through the official website of the Consortium. This marks a crucial step for aspirants seeking admission to some of India’s premier law institutions.

Following the publication of the allotment list, candidates opting for the Freeze or Float options will need to pay the Confirmation Fee to the Consortium between December 26, 2024, and January 4, 2025. This step is essential for candidates to secure their seats or retain eligibility for better options in subsequent rounds. The admission process to the respective National Law Universities (NLUs) will also take place during this period.

The seat allotment procedure is straightforward. Candidates must visit the official website, navigate to the CLAT 2025 counselling section, and click on the link for the first allotment list. After entering the required details, the allotment list will appear on the screen. Candidates are advised to carefully review the list, download it, and keep a printed copy for future reference.

The counselling process will continue with subsequent allotment lists scheduled for release in 2025. The second allotment list will be published on January 10, followed by the third list on January 24. Later rounds, including the fourth and fifth allotment lists, will be released on May 20 and May 29, respectively. The fifth round of counselling will officially mark the conclusion of the allotment process.

For candidates who opt for the Freeze option in the fourth and fifth allotment rounds, payment of the University Fee, after adjusting for the Confirmation and Counselling Registration Fees, must be completed by June 10, 2025. Adherence to this deadline is critical for securing admission to the allocated universities.

CLAT 2024, the entrance examination for CLAT 2025 admissions, was conducted over two hours. The test comprised 120 multiple-choice questions, each carrying one mark. Candidates faced a penalty of 0.25 marks for every incorrect answer, emphasizing the importance of accuracy in responses.

The Common Law Admission Test remains one of the most competitive law entrance exams in India. With the release of the first allotment list, candidates are urged to stay informed and complete their required formalities promptly to ensure a seamless admission process.
