The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) is set to conduct the mock test for the Company Secretary Executive Entrance Test (CSEET) for the upcoming November session today. This test aims to help registered candidates familiarize themselves with the exam format, conducted remotely and proctored online to ensure a smooth experience for students when the official exam takes place on November 9, 2024.
To participate in today’s mock test, candidates need to download the Safe Exam Browser (SEB) on their laptops or desktops. The browser, specifically designed for secure online testing, can be accessed through the ICSI’s website, with the download link available at SEB Download Link. Candidates have been issued their unique login credentials for the mock test via email and SMS, allowing them access to the remote proctored mock test session.
The ICSI emphasized the importance of the mock test, noting that it offers critical practice for candidates to adapt to the remote proctoring setup. “Company Secretary Executive Entrance Test (CSEET) is scheduled to be conducted on Saturday, 9th November 2024, through remote proctored mode. To familiarize candidates with the remote proctoring process, the Institute has decided to conduct a mock test for two hours on 6th November 2024. Appearance in the mock test is required due to its importance and usefulness for the candidates,” the official notification states. Candidates have been advised to log in 30 minutes before the scheduled start of the mock test to ensure a timely check-in and a smooth setup.
The actual CSEET examination will evaluate candidates across four key subjects: Business Communication, Legal Aptitude and Logical Reasoning, Economic and Business Environment, and Current Affairs and Quantitative Aptitude. Like the mock test, the official CSEET exam will also be conducted remotely, with invigilators monitoring candidates online to ensure compliance with exam protocols.
Candidates must achieve a minimum of 50% overall and no less than 40% in each paper to pass. The exam, free from negative marking, prohibits the use of calculators, pens, pencils, paper, or notebooks. For identity verification, candidates should have their admit card and a government-issued ID, such as a passport, driving license, PAN card, Aadhaar, or voter ID, readily available for the remote proctors.
During the test, candidates must stay online for the entire session without breaks. Any violations of the exam’s guidelines could lead to the withholding or cancellation of the candidate’s results. ICSI has underscored that leaving the test before submission or attempting to use unauthorized materials will be strictly penalized to maintain the exam’s integrity.
The mock test serves as a preparatory step, ensuring candidates are well-acquainted with the system, minimizing technical issues, and enhancing their confidence for the official CSEET exam on November 9.
