Greater Noida Board Meeting 2026 Key Decisions on Budget and Connectivity
The 143rd board meeting of the Greater Noida Authority marked a significant step toward urban development, infrastructure expansion, and citizen-focused reforms. Held on May 2, 2026, the meeting approved a balanced budget of ₹6,048 crore for the financial year 2026-27, with equal projections for income and expenditure. The authority emphasized land acquisition, infrastructure growth, and rural development to support increasing industrial investments in the region.
*Strong Push for Infrastructure and Development*
The approved budget allocates approximately ₹1,150 crore for land acquisition and ₹2,176 crore for construction and development projects. Key initiatives include foot overbridges, sewage treatment plants, electrical substations, colleges, vendor markets, and bus shelters. Additionally, ₹108 crore has been earmarked for greenery initiatives. Capital expenditure of ₹778 crore will support community centers, metro expansion, and contributions to the Noida International Airport project.
*Relief on Water Charges and OTS Scheme*
In a major relief measure, the authority decided not to increase water charges this year, breaking the annual 10% hike trend since 2013-14. A One-Time Settlement scheme has also been introduced for pending water dues, offering interest rebates of 40% till June 30, 30% till July 31, and 20% till August 31. The total outstanding water dues currently stand at around ₹290 crore across various categories, including residential and builder segments.
*Boost to Connectivity and Logistics*
To enhance regional connectivity, a 15-kilometer road will link the 105-meter road in Greater Noida to the Ganga Expressway. Another major project includes a six-lane elevated road parallel to the Dedicated Freight Corridor, connecting the multi-modal logistics hub directly to the Noida International Airport cargo terminal. These projects are expected to significantly improve transportation efficiency for both residents and industries.
*Housing, Safety, and Public Transport Upgrades*
The board approved a One-Time Settlement scheme for flat allottees, offering relief on pending premiums and lease penalties. To strengthen fire safety, two 102-meter hydraulic platforms will be procured at a cost of ₹100 crore. Public transport will also see improvements with the introduction of 15 electric buses across four routes, promoting eco-friendly mobility and better connectivity.
*Industrial Growth and Social Infrastructure*
A 220 kV substation will be developed in Ecotech-10 to meet rising industrial power demands. Traffic congestion around Pari Chowk will be addressed through a detailed plan by a leading technical institute. Additional approvals include housing for disaster response forces, a Meghalaya Bhawan in Techzone, and a 300-bed ESI hospital in Knowledge Park-5, aimed at improving healthcare access.
These decisions are expected to accelerate Greater Noida’s growth trajectory by enhancing infrastructure, boosting investment, and improving overall quality of life for residents.
