Ranchi, 28 August : The court of Special CBI Judge Vishal Srivastava on Monday pronounced the verdict in the fodder scam case number (RC 48A/96) Doranda Treasury case. Out of a total of 124 accused, the court sentenced 52 to three years’ imprisonment, while 35 were acquitted. While 37 others have been sentenced to more than three years.
Many doctors and suppliers are also included among the 35 accused who have been released by the court in the fodder scam case. The court sent the accused, who were sentenced for more than three years, to jail in judicial custody. The court will give a detailed verdict on the punishment of these people on September 1.
The court had completed the hearing of all the parties on July 24 and directed all the accused to remain physically present while fixing the verdict today.
Illegal withdrawals from the Doranda Treasury were done between 1990–91 and 1994–95 on the basis of fake allotment letters. Out of the total 124 accused in this case, 38 have been public servants, out of which eight are treasury officers and 86 are suppliers.
These people were acquitted.
Among the 35 people who were acquitted by the court in this case, Anul Haque, Rajendra Pandey, Ram Sevak Sahu, Deenanath Sahay, Saket, Harish Khanna, Kailash Mani Kashyap, Baldev Sahu, Siddharth Kumar, Nirmala Prasad, Anita Kumari, Ekram, Mo Hussain, Sanaul Haq, Sairu Nisha, Chanchala Sinha, Jyoti Kakkar, Saraswati Devi, Ramavatar Sinha, Reema Badaik, and Madhu Pathak
