A significant fire broke out at two restaurants in Delhi’s INA Market on Monday, injuring at least six people.
Delhi Fire Services officials reported that the blaze originated at a fast-food restaurant and subsequently spread to an adjacent establishment. Upon receiving the alert, six to eight fire tenders were dispatched to the scene and successfully extinguished the flames.
Part of the roof of one restaurant collapsed during the incident, according to Delhi Fire Services officials speaking to the news agency Asian News International (ANI). Initial reports suggest that the fire began in a Chinese restaurant and then spread to the neighboring restaurant. Six individuals sustained burn injuries and were promptly admitted to the nearest hospital for treatment. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
“We received information about the fire at 3:20 a.m. Seven to eight fire brigades were sent to the location. Two restaurants caught fire, resulting in six reported injuries. The cause of the fire is yet to be determined. Excessive storage of commercial cylinders in the restaurant posed a significant risk,” stated Manoj Mehlawat of Delhi Fire Services while speaking to Asian News International (ANI).
Earlier in April, a fire in a residential building in Delhi resulted in minor burn injuries for at least two people. That incident occurred in a duplex flat on the third and fourth floors of the Minasar Apartments in Sector 14, Rohini area.
