Following his expulsion from the Congress party for a six-year period due to alleged repeated statements against the party, Acharya Pramod Krishnam has expressed his gratitude towards senior leaders Mallikarjun Kharge and K C Venugopal for “relieving him”.
Speaking to ANI, Krishnam raised concerns over the grounds of his expulsion, asserting that he was uncertain which of his activities were deemed anti-party- such as invoking Lord Ram’s name, visiting Ayodhya, attending the Pran Pratishtha ceremony at Ram Janmabhoomi, and meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He also expressed his appreciation for Prime Minister Modi’s decisions for the welfare of the country, criticizing the Congress for harboring animosity towards the Prime Minister to the extent of hating the entire nation.
The now expelled Congress leader said, “…’Main Congress party ka naukar nahi tha, aur maine naukri bhi nahi maangi thi’…The first person to see the dream of Ram Rajya was Mahatma Gandhi and PM Modi is fulfilling his dreams. If PM Modi is taking decisions for the welfare of the country, it should be appreciated but the Congress party hates PM Modi so much that now they have started hating the entire country. Now, they want to erase ‘Sanatana’, they hate PM Modi so much that they start hating anyone who even meets him…I want to thank the leaders of Congress who played a vital role in expelling me from the party…”
The Congress party, in a statement issued by party general secretary (organisation) K C Venugopal, cited complaints regarding indiscipline and repeated statements against the party as the basis for Krishnam’s expulsion.
“In view of complaints about indiscipline and repeatedly making statement against the party, Congress president has approved the Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee’s proposal to expel Shri Pramod Krishnam for six years with immediate effect,” the statement read.
