Donald Trump, the former president and current Republican candidate for the White House, continues to expand his brand beyond real estate, tapping into a diverse range of merchandise to bolster his image and appeal to supporters. Known for his controversial business ventures, Donald Trump has previously marketed products from steaks to educational courses through “Donald Trump University,” though many of these endeavors have faced challenges and setbacks. Despite these obstacles, including a significant drop in shares of his media company, Donald Trump is now offering an eclectic array of items, some of which are decidedly unconventional.

Among the most striking offerings is a Bible, which Donald Trump has described as his “favorite book.” Launched around Easter, the Bibles are being sold online for $59.99, accompanied by a promotional video in which Donald Trump states, “We must Make America Pray Again,” a play on his famous campaign slogan “Make America Great Again.” The sale of these Bibles underscores Donald Trump’s appeal to evangelical voters, a crucial demographic within the Republican Party, and is being conducted in collaboration with conservative musician Lee Greenwood, known for his patriotic anthem “God Bless the USA,” which is frequently played at Trump rallies.

In addition to Bibles, Donald Trump has introduced a pair of commemorative sneakers priced at $299, which mark the attempted assassination that almost claimed his life. The white high-tops are adorned with an American flag and feature a dramatic image of Donald Trump with a bleeding ear and raised fist, captured moments after a gunman fired at him during a rally in Pennsylvania. The sneakers have the phrase “Fight! Fight! Fight!” emblazoned on the soles, reflecting Donald Trump’s rallying cry that has resonated with his supporters.

Furthermore, Donald Trump has taken to selling fragments of the suit he wore during his televised debate with President Joe Biden, an encounter that has since been described as disastrous for Biden. Priced at $1,485, these suit pieces come attached to trading cards, with Donald Trump promoting them as “tangible pieces of Presidential history” that can be passed down through generations.

Recently, Donald Trump announced the launch of silver coins featuring his likeness, set to be available for purchase at $100 each. He describes these coins as a “true symbol of American greatness,” with one side bearing his image and the reverse displaying the White House alongside the motto “In God We Trust.” Although the coins are not legal tender, Donald Trump has humorously remarked on their unique appeal, stating, “I’ve seen a lot of coins out there using my very beautiful face … but they are not the official coin.”

This foray into currency extends beyond merchandise; Donald Trump and his sons have also introduced World Liberty Financial, a cryptocurrency initiative aimed at positioning the United States as the “crypto capital of the world.” While the sales of Bibles, sneakers, suit pieces, and coins are not intended to directly fund his campaign, they reflect Donald Trump’s strategy of leveraging his name, likeness, and image to generate revenue through licensed merchandise.

As the 2024 election approaches, Donald Trump’s marketing efforts are indicative of his enduring ability to captivate his base and monetize his persona, utilizing a combination of traditional merchandise and innovative new products to maintain his influence in the political landscape.
