In a shocking incident from Kannauj, Uttar Pradesh, a woman was brutally assaulted and her head shaved after she reported that her nephew had sexually harassed her. The assault, captured in a disturbing video that went viral, led to the arrest of six individuals, including the woman’s husband.
The incident took place on September 3, but the video only surfaced recently. It shows the woman, with her head forcibly shaved and her limbs bound, being repeatedly struck with a wooden stick by her husband while surrounded by a small crowd.
The footage documents multiple men taking turns to beat the woman, who visibly winces in pain and cries out before eventually collapsing.
According to the victim, her nephew, Raja Nath, had subjected her to prolonged harassment. Her attempt to confront the issue at his residence led to a violent retaliation from her husband and his relatives, who then proceeded to shave her head and beat her with sticks.
Upon the video’s emergence on social media, local police initiated a formal investigation into the assault. Kannauj Superintendent of Police, Amit Kumar Anand, confirmed the arrests, stating, “A video of a woman being beaten is circulating online. The primary aggressor identified in the footage is the husband of the victim. Six people have been detained, and we are conducting a thorough inquiry into this grave incident.”
