In a coordinated diplomatic effort, the United Kingdom, France, and Jordan summoned Iranian envoys on Sunday to express their condemnation of Iran’s recent attack on Israel and its airspace violation.
The British Foreign Ministry issued a stern statement condemning Iran’s direct assault on Israel and its infringement of Jordan and Iraq’s airspace. This move was deemed a dangerous escalation amid heightened tensions in the Middle East.
Acknowledging their role in the interception operation, the British Royal Air Force pledged to respond to any airborne threats within their operational range, underscoring their commitment to regional stability.
French involvement in Israel’s defense was confirmed by IDF Spokesman Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari, citing France’s significant technological capabilities and contribution to airspace surveillance.
Jordan, a vocal critic of Israel’s actions in Gaza, displayed a noteworthy gesture of support by intercepting and downing numerous Iranian drones that breached its airspace en route to Israel. This marked a dramatic demonstration of solidarity between Amman and Tel Aviv.
Despite the scale of the Iranian attack, Israeli air defenses successfully intercepted the vast majority of projectiles, with minimal damage reported at the Nevatim Airbase in southern Israel. The incident underscores the ongoing tensions between Israel and Iran, exacerbated by recent events in Syria.
