Registrations for the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2025 are set to open on July 15, 2024, providing aspiring law students an opportunity to secure admissions in prestigious law universities across India. The exam, conducted by the Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs), will be held on December 1, 2024.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates applying for the undergraduate (UG) course must have obtained a minimum of 45% in their Class 12 examinations. However, SC, ST, and PwD category candidates are eligible with a minimum of 40% marks.
For the postgraduate (PG) course, general category candidates should have completed LLB with at least 50% marks, while SC, ST, and PwD candidates need a minimum of 45% marks.
Application Fee
The application fee for CLAT 2025 is Rs 4,000 for general category candidates. SC, ST, and PwD candidates will pay a reduced fee of Rs 3,500.
Exam Pattern
The CLAT UG exam will comprise 120 questions to be completed within two hours. It will cover subjects including English language, current affairs, logical reasoning, legal reasoning, and quantitative techniques.
The CLAT PG exam will include questions on various law subjects such as constitutional law, jurisprudence, family law, criminal law, property law, administrative law, contract law, torts, company law, public international law, tax law, environmental law, and labour and industrial law.
