Noida Authority CEO Dr. Lokesh M conducted a detailed on-site inspection from Sector 94 to Sector 127 on Monday, where he found severe lapses in the maintenance and management of the entry route into Noida from Kalindi Kunj. Expressing strong displeasure over the deteriorated conditions, he reprimanded concerned officials and issued several directives aimed at improving aesthetics, safety, and traffic flow along the corridor. The CEO instructed teams to make the entry point visually appealing, remove illegal hoardings, enhance lighting, streamline parking, and trim overgrown trees across key institutional sectors.
Entry Route Found in Poor Condition; Illegal Hoardings, Dark Stretches and Unkept Greenery Highlight Neglect
During his inspection, Dr. Lokesh M observed that the maintenance of the Noida entry route from Kalindi Kunj was in a “highly unsatisfactory” state. He ordered immediate aesthetic upgrades, including repainting and improving the overall appearance of the entry stretch. The CEO also directed the removal of thorny babool trees along the route and instructed that attractive, decorative street lights be installed to eliminate dark patches at night.
The inspection further revealed a large number of unauthorized advertisements, hoardings and boards along the stretch, causing exposed and entangled illegal cables. The CEO ordered that all such illegal installations be removed without delay. Moving forward, he reviewed the underpass between Sector 94 and 95, where he found a low-height barrier installed at the Sector 94 entry point. He instructed teams to apply retro-reflective tape on the barrier and to upgrade the Sector 94 roundabout for better traffic circulation.
Near the crematorium area, the CEO noticed a blocked road and directed officials to finalize its alignment and initiate construction to ease vehicular movement. Several institutional units along the route were found to have created large-scale illegal parking zones. The CEO ordered that notices be issued immediately to all units involved. In Sectors 125, 126 and 127, branches of trees were found to have grown excessively, obstructing pathways and visibility, prompting the CEO to order urgent trimming. Multiple sections of the central verge were missing plants, for which replantation was instructed.
Directions for Parking, Footpath Upgrades, Lighting Expansion and Removal of Unnecessary Railings
As part of a pilot project, the CEO instructed the development of dedicated parking and footpath facilities near the cemetery in Sector 125, roughly 50 metres from the main road. He also observed that railings installed across several stretches of the central verge were unnecessary. He ordered these railings to be dismantled and stored.
On the 45-metre-wide road running parallel to the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway and Yamuna Pushta, the CEO directed officials to install reflectors wherever required to improve nighttime visibility. Several portions of the footpath were found damaged, and he instructed repairs on a priority basis.
At the culvert near Amity University in Sector 125, SFRC covers placed for pedestrian movement were found missing. The CEO instructed the authorities to reinstall the covers and ensure the drain remains properly covered. He also noted poor connectivity between multiple footpath segments and ordered the creation of seamless pedestrian links.
At the Sector 125–126 roundabout, he directed the removal of unauthorized advertising placed on the cycle stand. Additionally, the street lights installed in front of Amity University were ordered to be extended across the entire 45-metre-wide parallel road up to Sector 127 to ensure uniform illumination.
The BOT-based toilet structure near Mayur School was found lacking proper signage and maintenance. The CEO instructed that signage be installed and the facility be improved to ensure usability and hygiene.
Senior officials including General Manager A.K. Arora, Deputy General Manager (Civil) Vijay Kumar Rawal, Director (Horticulture) Anand Mohan Singh, OSD Indu Prakash Singh, Senior Manager Satendra Giri, and Project Engineer-II R.K. Sharma were present during the inspection.
The extensive inspection highlighted significant negligence across the stretch, prompting strict directions from the CEO to restore compliance, improve public convenience and enhance the overall civic environment along one of Noida’s key access routes.
