Canadian billionaire Frank Stronach, aged 91, was arrested on Friday on charges of rape and sexual assault, spanning a period from the 1980s to 2023, according to Peel Regional Police. The arrest took place in the elite Toronto suburb of Aurora.
In an official statement, Peel Regional Police revealed that Frank Stronach faces five criminal charges, including rape, indecent assault on a female, sexual assaults, and forcible confinement. They urged the public to provide any relevant information they may have.
Despite the charges, Frank Stronach, the founder of Canada’s Magna International, has been released on conditions. He is expected to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton at a later date.
In response to the allegations, Frank Stronach’s lawyer, Brian Greenspan, stated that his client “categorically denies” all charges. Greenspan emphasized Frank Stronach’s anticipation to fully address the accusations, maintaining his reputation as a philanthropist and a prominent figure in the Canadian business community.
Meanwhile, Magna International, the company Frank Stronach founded, stated that it had no prior knowledge of the investigation or the allegations beyond what was reported in the media. The company clarified that Frank Stronach had no association with Magna since relinquishing control in 2010.
