The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi has commenced the application process for its undergraduate summer research fellowship, inviting eligible students from various engineering institutes in India and abroad. Candidates who have completed at least two years of study and rank among the top 10 in their respective programmes or branches are eligible to apply for this prestigious fellowship opportunity.
The application window for the IIT Delhi fellowship is now open and can be accessed through the official website at academics.iitd.ac.in/srf/login. Prospective applicants are encouraged to submit their applications before the deadline on March 20, 5:00 PM. The fellowship offers a research duration of eight to 12 weeks, spanning from May 14 to July 12.
Selected candidates will benefit from various provisions, including coverage of travel expenses (limited to train-sleeper class within the country) to and from IIT Delhi. Additionally, boarding and lodging facilities will be provided on the institute campus during the fellowship period. Participants will also receive a fellowship amount of Rs 500 per week to support their research endeavors.
During the fellowship, students will be registered as visiting scholars at IIT Delhi without any registration fee requirement. However, it is mandatory for selected participants to obtain insurance coverage against any unforeseen circumstances during their stay at the institute. The insurance plan should encompass accidents and accidental death, ensuring the safety and well-being of the fellows.
Applicants are required to submit a no-objection certificate (in PDF format) from their parent institution, specifying the commencement and conclusion dates for conducting full-time research at IIT Delhi under the fellowship programme. The list of selected candidates will be announced by the second week of April, providing ample time for preparations before the commencement of the fellowship.
