The officials further informed that the body of a 25-year-old woman was also found 200 meters away in the same area.

“Two bodies, a man and a woman, were recovered from the Cauvery River near Pungodai village in Karur district,” officials said.

The deceased has been identified as Jeganathan a resident of Mettu Street, Namakkal district.
