Anil Tiger, a prominent BJP leader and former Zila Parishad member, was tragically shot dead in broad daylight in Ranchi’s Kanke area. The incident took place at around 4 pm on Wednesday (March 26, 2025) at Kanke Chowk, causing widespread panic among the locals.

According to eyewitnesses, two assailants on a motorcycle approached Thakur Hotel, where Anil Tiger was sitting, and shot him in the head. The sudden gunfire triggered chaos, with people fleeing the scene in fear. The police arrived quickly and rushed Anil Tiger to the hospital, but he was declared dead upon arrival.

The tragic event has sparked protests across Ranchi, with locals gathering at Kanke Chowk to demand justice for Anil Tiger. The protests intensified, leading to a bandh being called in Ranchi, with support from BJP, AJSU, and JD(U) parties. The incident has raised concerns about law and order in the state, with opposition parties criticizing the Jharkhand government’s handling of security matters.

Ranchi BJP MLA CP Singh condemned the state government, saying, “Law and order in Jharkhand is in complete disarray. How long will the state continue to echo with the sound of bullets?” His sentiments were echoed by BJP MLA Roshan Lal Choudhary, who also criticized the government’s failure to maintain safety in the region. “This incident happened within a 2 km radius of the Chief Minister’s residence, which is highly condemnable. The criminals have challenged the state government,” he stated. He further urged the state to take immediate action against those responsible for the murder.

The murder of Anil Tiger has raised serious questions about the prevailing security situation in Jharkhand, highlighting the need for stronger law enforcement to prevent such incidents. As the investigation continues, the people of Ranchi remain on edge, awaiting justice for the slain BJP leader.
