Bhojpuri actor Amrita Pandey was discovered deceased in her Bhagalpur apartment in Bihar on April 27, as confirmed by local authorities. The police are currently investigating the incident, suspecting the 27-year-old actor’s death to be a case of suicide.
Prior to her death, Amrita Pandey posted a cryptic message on WhatsApp, stating, “Do naav me savaar thi uski zindagi, humne apni naav duba ke uska safar aasaan kar diya” (His/her life was sailing on two boats, we made the journey easy by sinking one). Although no suicide note has been recovered, her family revealed that she had been battling depression, reportedly exacerbated by concerns about her career and lack of work opportunities.
Residing in Mumbai with her husband, animation engineer Chandramani Jhangad, Amrita Pandey had traveled to Bhagalpur to attend her sister’s wedding on April 18. While her husband returned home following the wedding, Amrita Pandey opted to stay back in Bhagalpur.
Known for her roles alongside Bhojpuri star Khesari Lal Yadav in ‘Deewanapan’ and appearances in Hindi movies, TV shows, and web series, Amrita Pandey’s sudden demise has shocked the entertainment industry. The City Superintendent of Police, Shri Raj, has assured a thorough investigation into the case, with family members being questioned as part of the ongoing inquiry.
