Lakhimpur Kheri, 09 Sept : On Saturday, a private tourist bus carrying around 60 pilgrims from Medinipur, West Bengal, crashed into a roadside ditch on the Bareilly-Lucknow national highway at Jang Bahadur Ganj (JB Ganj) bypass near Allipur village, according to police. Ten of the injured were sent to the neighboring Shahjahanpur district for treatment, according to JB Ganj police station in-charge Hemant Katiyar. All injured were confirmed to be safe, with the exception of a woman named Madhumita, who had a head injury, Katiyar added.
Following the crash, the bus driver and his assistant left. Pilgrims reported they boarded the bus on August 25 and were on their way to Ayodhya and Varanasi after seeing Gaya, Bodhgaya, Prayagraj, Chitrakoot, Vrindavan, and Haridwar.
Two Brothers Fatally Injured in Bus Crash
In another neighboring event, two brothers were killed and a third was injured when the motorbike they were riding was hit by a bus in the district’s Mirzapur Police Station area.
Musharraf (30) and his brothers Mashroor (25) were riding a motorcycle with Buddu (55). A bus hit their motorcycle near Gaushera Village Friday night, stated Superintendent of Police (Rural) Sagar Jain. While Musharraf and Mashroor were assassinated on the scene, Jain stated that Buddu was transported to a hospital for treatment. After the incident, the bus driver abandoned his vehicle. The police are looking for him.
