Noida: The Noida Authority has reiterated its zero-tolerance policy against illegal construction and encroachment in its notified areas and has adopted a firm stance to ensure planned urban development. As part of the ongoing drive against unauthorized constructions and encroachments, the Authority has made it clear that any laxity or negligence on the part of officials entrusted with monitoring and enforcement responsibilities will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
The Authority stated that maintaining the sanctity of notified land and preventing illegal construction activities are among its top priorities. Regular enforcement drives are being conducted to curb encroachments and unauthorized structures, and strict instructions have been issued to all concerned departments to ensure vigilant supervision in their respective areas. The objective of these actions is to safeguard public land, uphold planning norms and ensure orderly and sustainable development of the city.
In this context, the Chief Executive Officer of the Noida Authority has ordered disciplinary action against officials of Work Circle-06 after instances of negligence and weak supervision came to light. The action has been taken after a review of enforcement and monitoring mechanisms revealed shortcomings in the discharge of official duties in the concerned areas.
As part of the disciplinary measures, Abdul Shahid, Manager posted in Work Circle-06, has been found guilty of failing to exercise effective supervision in his area of responsibility. It was observed that due to inadequate monitoring and negligence in the performance of assigned duties, lapses occurred in controlling illegal construction and encroachment activities. Taking serious note of this, the Chief Executive Officer has issued a show-cause notice to Abdul Shahid. In addition, departmental proceedings have been initiated against him to examine the matter in detail and to fix responsibility as per established service rules.
In another action, Vinay Kumar Sharma, Assistant Manager associated with Work Circle-06, has been relieved from the services of the Noida Authority with immediate effect. The Authority clarified that Sharma’s deputation period had already been completed, and in view of the circumstances and administrative requirements, a decision was taken to relieve him from Authority services without delay. This step forms part of the broader effort to strengthen accountability and ensure that only responsible and vigilant officers are entrusted with sensitive enforcement-related duties.
The Noida Authority has emphasized that these actions should be seen as a clear message to all officers and staff that negligence, weak supervision or any form of complicity in illegal construction and encroachment will invite strict disciplinary consequences. The Authority has reiterated that notified land belongs to the public and must be protected at all costs. Any attempt to illegally occupy or construct on such land will be dealt with firmly and decisively.
Officials have been directed to intensify field inspections, ensure regular monitoring of vulnerable locations and promptly initiate demolition or sealing action wherever unauthorized construction is detected. The Authority has also stressed the importance of coordination among different departments to ensure that enforcement actions are timely, effective and legally sound.
The administration further stated that if, in any area, involvement or negligence of departmental officials is established in facilitating or ignoring illegal construction or encroachment, similar stringent punitive action will be taken against them. This includes departmental inquiries, issuance of show-cause notices, suspension, removal from service or other penalties as provided under the rules.
The Noida Authority reaffirmed its commitment to transparency, accountability and integrity in governance. It underlined that enforcement against illegal construction is not merely an administrative exercise but a crucial step towards ensuring public safety, environmental protection and planned urban growth. Unauthorized constructions often pose serious risks to residents and strain civic infrastructure, which is why strict adherence to planning regulations is essential.
By taking firm action against erring officials, the Authority aims to strengthen its enforcement machinery and restore public confidence in its functioning. The Authority has also appealed to citizens to cooperate with the administration and refrain from engaging in or supporting any form of illegal construction or encroachment. Members of the public have been advised to report any such activities to the concerned departments so that timely action can be taken.
The Noida Authority has made it clear that the ongoing drive against illegal construction and encroachment will continue in a sustained and systematic manner. Regular reviews at the highest level will be conducted to monitor progress, and corrective measures will be taken wherever gaps are identified. Through strict enforcement, accountability of officials and public cooperation, the Authority aims to ensure that Noida develops as a well-planned, safe and orderly city.
