AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi has strongly criticized Pakistan following the recent terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam, where 26 people, mostly tourists, were brutally killed. Speaking at a public rally, Asaduddin Owaisi accused Pakistan of behaving like ISIS and warned that no country would tolerate innocent civilians being slaughtered on its soil, regardless of the attacker’s nuclear status.

During his address in Maharashtra’s Parbhani, Asaduddin Owaisi slammed Pakistan’s repeated boasts of nuclear power, questioning how a nation could claim such strength while orchestrating attacks against innocent people. Referring to the April 22 massacre, he condemned Pakistan for promoting violence under the guise of religion. “By killing our citizens on our land, targeting them for their faith, what ‘deen’ are you defending? You acted like ISIS,” he said, according to ANI.

NIA intensifies probe into Pahalgam massacre

The terror attack in Pahalgam’s scenic Baisaran meadow stands out as one of the deadliest in Kashmir since the 2019 Pulwama incident. In the aftermath, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has intensified its efforts to uncover the full details behind the tragedy. The NIA, present in the region since the attack, formally took over the investigation and has been rigorously questioning eyewitnesses to reconstruct the sequence of events leading to the mass killing.

This act of violence has heightened already strained tensions between India and Pakistan, triggering swift and decisive actions from New Delhi.

India responds with tough measures against Pakistan

Following a Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) meeting on April 23, India responded with a series of strong measures against Pakistan. The government suspended the Indus Waters Treaty, closed the integrated check post at the Attari border, and revoked all visas issued to Pakistani nationals. These moves underline India’s hardening stance and its refusal to tolerate cross-border terrorism.

Meanwhile, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif offered to support a “neutral investigation” into the Pahalgam attack but emphasized that Pakistan’s forces are prepared to defend their sovereignty and territorial integrity. Despite the offer, trust remains low as New Delhi moves forward with strategic and diplomatic countermeasures.
