In a fiery address at the BJP national council meeting on Sunday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched a blistering assault on the Congress party and the INDIA bloc, characterizing the impending Lok Sabha elections as a pivotal showdown between democratic progress and dynastic rule.
Presenting the second resolution of the two-day BJP national council, Shah minced no words in his critique, declaring, “How can those who could not bring democracy in their party nurture democracy in the country? The battle is between democratic, developmental alliance and dynastic alliance.”
He lambasted leaders of the INDIA bloc, alleging their singular ambition to propel their progeny into positions of power. “Can they, who have this aim, work for the poor or the country? These are 2G or 3G parties, meaning second- or third-generation parties,” Shah asserted, painting a portrait of entrenched nepotism and stagnation within these political factions.
Highlighting the humble origins of BJP leaders, Shah underscored the party’s commitment to meritocracy and inclusivity. “Modi is from a very poor family; President Droupadi Murmu comes from a poor adivasi family. The Vice-President comes from a farmer family. We have made our party democratic,” he declared, contrasting BJP’s ethos with the alleged dynastic tendencies of its adversaries.
Framing the electoral contest as a battle between the mythical forces of Kauravas and Pandavas, Shah implored the electorate to choose between the “dynastic INDIA bloc” and an NDA dedicated to national interests. He vilified the opposition as “corrupt, appeasement-loving INDIA bloc,” accusing the Congress of being the progenitor of systemic corruption.
Shah reserved effusive praise for Prime Minister Narendra Modi, extolling his transformative leadership and visionary policies. “Prime Minister Narendra Modi liberated India from mass inferiority complex and slave mentality,” Shah proclaimed, lauding Modi’s resolve in bolstering national security and fostering global partnerships.
Asserting BJP’s commitment to secularism while decrying Congress’s alleged exploitation of religion for political gain, Shah emphasized, “Panth nirpekhshta is part of our tradition; the state has no religion.” He accused Congress of prioritizing minority interests over national welfare, contrasting it with Modi’s purported focus on uplifting the disadvantaged.
In a resounding call to action, Shah rallied BJP faithfuls, urging them to propagate the message of progress under Modi’s leadership. “The need of the hour was to take forward the message that once Modi comes to power for a third time, India would become the third-largest economy,” he declared, painting a vision of prosperity and stability under BJP stewardship.
