In a blend of heritage and technological progress, Union Home Minister Amit Shah underscored the Modi government’s achievements, from building the Ram Temple in Ayodhya to bringing 5G technology to India, while addressing the 63rd Foundation Day of Bharat Vikas Parishad (BVP). His remarks showcased the government’s vision of combining cultural revival with modern advancements to strengthen India’s identity and development.
Balancing Heritage with Modern Progress
During his address, Amit Shah took a dig at critics questioning the utility of the Ram Temple, stating, “People with leftist ideology ask what good came from building the Ram Mandir. They won’t understand. Modi ji built the Ram Temple and brought 5G to India.” He further highlighted how under Prime Minister Modi, digital payments have reached even small street vendors, transforming everyday commerce across the country.
Amit Shah’s speech reflected the government’s broader narrative of linking India’s cultural heritage with forward-looking initiatives, illustrating how technological advancements and cultural pride can go hand in hand in shaping the nation’s progress. He positioned the Ram Mandir and the 5G rollout as emblematic of this dual focus.
Education, Infrastructure, and Identity
The Home Minister also highlighted the Modi government’s initiatives to replace colonial-era symbols with Indian ones, expand AIIMS and IITs across the nation, and promote education in regional languages. These steps, he explained, were designed to connect Indians with their cultural roots while ensuring access to modern education and healthcare.
Praising Bharat Vikas Parishad’s commitment to selfless service inspired by Swami Vivekananda, Amit Shah commended its extensive network of over 1,600 branches serving communities across India, particularly during disasters and social initiatives. He described BVP as more than just an organisation, calling it an idea that connects Indians to their identity and sense of service.
“BVP has been walking the path of service long before this era, and it will continue to do so,” Amit Shah said, acknowledging the organisation’s role in promoting a sense of unity, cultural pride, and service-minded citizenship among Indians.
