  • BJP expresses confidence in electoral victory, targeting political adversaries.

During a spirited roadshow in Udaipur, Rajasthan, Home Minister Amit Shah directed barbs at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, dismissing his earlier predictions of turmoil in Kashmir following the removal of Article 370. Shah, a prominent figure in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), asserted that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, the situation in Kashmir has remained tranquil, refuting any assertions of unrest.

The roadshow, which took place in the evening following the conclusion of voting for the first phase of Lok Sabha elections, provided Shah with a platform to address the gathered crowd. In his speech, he seized the opportunity to critique Gandhi’s past statements, particularly those suggesting a potential bloodbath in Kashmir post-Article 370 abrogation.

Shah’s remarks underscored the BJP’s confidence in its governance and security measures in the region under Modi’s administration. He emphasized the absence of any significant unrest in Kashmir since the revocation of Article 370, attributing this stability to the firm resolve of the central government.

Accompanied by Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, Shah embarked on a one-kilometer roadshow in support of BJP candidate Mannalal Rawat for the Udaipur Lok Sabha seat. The event saw enthusiastic participation from party workers and the public, with Shah and Sharma engaging in friendly interactions along the route.

In addition to targeting Rahul Gandhi and the Congress, Shah expressed optimism about the BJP’s electoral prospects in Rajasthan. He predicted a sweeping victory for the party in the state, confidently asserting that the BJP would secure victory across all parliamentary constituencies.

The parliamentary elections in Rajasthan are being conducted in two phases, with the voting process for 12 seats concluding in the first phase. The remaining 13 seats are scheduled for polling in the second phase on April 26, marking a critical juncture in determining the political landscape of the state.

Shah’s assertive stance during the roadshow reflects the BJP’s strategy of leveraging key electoral issues to bolster its campaign efforts, particularly in regions with significant political stakes. As the electoral contest unfolds, Shah’s remarks serve as a reminder of the BJP’s commitment to governance and security, while also targeting its political adversaries.
