A horrifying incident has unfolded in Agra, where an engineering student has alleged that she was raped by a senior from the same institute. The accused, identified as Shivang Singh, reportedly committed the crime in a moving car before abandoning the victim by the roadside.
According to the victim’s complaint, Singh, who hails from Ghazipur, coerced her into his car on the evening of August 10. During their encounter, Singh allegedly bound her hands inside the vehicle, obscured the car’s windows, and drew a curtain to separate the back seat from the driver’s seat to prevent detection. Despite the victim’s desperate pleas and attempts to raise an alarm, Singh threatened her life and proceeded to rape her.
Following the assault, Singh reportedly discarded the victim on the roadside and fled the scene. The victim managed to return to her residence and lodged a complaint with the police the next day.
In response to the incident, police have launched a manhunt for Singh, who is currently evading arrest. Singh has claimed that he has been at IIT Jammu and Kashmir for the past ten days, but authorities are conducting a thorough investigation, including a review of CCTV footage, to confirm his whereabouts.
The case has ignited outrage within the local community and among activists, who are calling for immediate and stringent action against the perpetrator.
