New Delhi. In January 2023, Shah Rukh Khan’s film Pathaan made a big splash at the box office. Director Siddharth Anand’s film earned more than 1000 crores and set many records.
Now, it’s reported that the makers are gearing up for the sequel, Pathaan 2. It’s said that Shah Rukh will begin shooting the film towards the end of the year. Along with this, there’s a surprising twist. It’s rumored that Siddharth Anand won’t direct the sequel. The production house has made this decision for a reason. Let’s find out why…
Siddharth Anand won’t direct Pathaan 2
After the phenomenal success of his comeback film Pathaan in 2023, Shah Rukh Khan is all set for its sequel, Pathaan 2. According to Piping Moon’s report, shooting for Pathaan 2 is set to commence by the end of 2024. However, there’s a sensational twist this time. Pathaan 2 will be directed not by Siddharth Anand but by a new director. This decision stems from Yash Raj Films’ new strategy for their franchise films. A source related to the film revealed that under their new strategy, Aditya Chopra is selecting directors for every spy universe film of YRF, and directors are not repeated for sequel films. This tradition, which was also followed for films like Tiger and War, will continue with Pathaan 2, where a new director will take Siddharth Anand’s place.
Who is the director of Pathaan 2 ?
The information about who will direct Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan 2 has not been revealed yet. However, work is underway on planning to start production by the end of the year. Meanwhile, it’s worth mentioning that despite stepping down from Pathaan 2, Siddharth hasn’t parted ways with YRF. He is preparing to direct Tiger versus Pathaan.
