At the recent South Indian International Movie Awards (SIIMA) held on September 15, 2024, at Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and her daughter Aaradhya Bachchan captured attention with their glamorous ensembles. Aishwarya secured the Best Actress in a Leading Role (Critics) award for her compelling performance in director Mani Ratnam’s “Ponniyin Selvan: Part 2.” The highlight of the ceremony was Aaradhya documenting her mother’s triumph with her phone as Aishwarya accepted the award on stage.
Post-event, the celebrated duo travelled to Dubai, receiving a heartfelt welcome. That evening, they appeared on the red carpet, where Aishwarya engaged with her admirers, capturing selfies with fans who had congregated outside the venue.
The award presentation itself was a notable affair, with Aishwarya receiving her Best Actress accolade from director Kabir Khan for her role in “Ponniyin Selvan: Part 2.” The moment was further illuminated when Aaradhya, dressed elegantly in a black and silver outfit, took photos, drawing considerable attention.
During the event, Aishwarya and Aaradhya were seated next to Chiyaan Vikram, Aishwarya’s co-star in the film, where she portrayed the dual roles of Nandini and Mandakini Devi. The movie is an adaptation of the acclaimed Tamil literary novel by Kalki Krishnamoorthy.
As of now, Aishwarya Rai has not yet announced any upcoming projects, leaving fans eager for news of her next cinematic endeavour.
