Sonbhadra, 10 Sept : An official claimed on Sunday that eight livestock smugglers were apprehended in two days in this city, and that seven cows and thirteen bulls were saved. Mohammad Alam, a citizen of Jharkhand, was apprehended near the Ranitali barrier on Saturday morning, according to Additional Superintendent of Police Kalu Singh. Singh stated that seven cows and thirteen bulls were saved, but seven other smugglers escaped. In a separate instance, Sadiq Ansari, who was carrying a Rs 25,000 bounty, Jamait Ansari, Mukhtar Ansari, and Diljan Sheikh were caught on Sunday morning from the Gardarwa tri-section in Hathinala for allegedly smuggling livestock, according to police.
On Saturday, police apprehended smugglers Yunus Ansari and Sharif Ansari, as well as their driver Mithun Kumar, based on a tip. He noted that those apprehended have been charged under the Uttar Pradesh Prevention of Cow Slaughter Act.
