7 pilgrims from Rajasthan killed in bus accident in Nepal

Kathmandu, 24 Aug : Seven pilgrims died in a bus accident in Nepal, and 19 others were injured. Out of the seven deceased one was a Nepal national, others were from Rajasthan in India. The accident occurred around midnight. Besides the deceased 19 others were injured, as their bus went out of control and fell into a 100-foot gorge in the Churiyamai region of the Bara district. The bus was returning after visiting Pashupatinath Temple.

DCP Tek Bahadur Karki, who reached the accident spot said that the dead bodies had been identified. The injured have been shifted to Bharatpur Medical College. The dead bodies have been referred to Makwanpur District Hospital for post-mortem. Information about the accident has been given to the Indian Consulate in Birganj. Arrangements to send the dead bodies to Rajasthan are being made.

The names of the deceased are – Bahadur Sinh (67), Satyavati (60), Rajendra Chaturvedi (70), Shrikant Chaturvedi (65), Vaijanti Devi (67), Meeradevi (65), and Nepal national Vijay Lala Pandit from Mahottari district. The injured – Ghanshyam Chaturvedi (48), Maya Devi (53), Taravati Devi (50), Kritika Chaturvedi (15), Shyamlal Mali (48), Harwari Mali (47), Chauthi Devi (70), and Anil Kumar (35) have been admitted to Hetauda Hospital near the accident spot.

Sureshchandra Chakravarti (72), Dharam Sinh (63), Indu Dhakad (60), Garvida Chaturvedi (16), Ramkumar Chaturvedi (54), and Ram Prasad (73) are being treated at Bharatpur Medical College.
