Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan is a leading educational institution in India committed to culture, values, and quality education for many years. With a total of 119 centers across India and 5 centers in other countries, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan’s most significant center is located on Kasturba Gandhi Marg in Delhi. This center offers various courses related to journalism, astrology, Jawaharlal Nehru Academy of Languages, Indian Vedic Yoga, aquapressure, interior designing, numerology/tarot card reading, vastu shastra, palmistry, Sanskrit Mahavidyalaya, hotel tourism, Kathak and vocal music, digital marketing, and many more.

Let’s explore one of the prominent courses at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, “Yoga”:

In today’s fast-paced life, it’s essential to take care of both our physical and mental health. Yoga not only makes individuals physically strong but also offers numerous spiritual and emotional benefits. Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan has been teaching yoga for years. The yoga program at the Bhavan is a journey towards physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. Rooted in age-old traditions, yoga has been designed to address the needs of individuals in all aspects of life, regardless of their prior experience or fitness level. This program equips students with the tools they need to lead a healthier, more balanced life.

Key Features:

(i) Experienced Instructors: The instructors teaching yoga at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan are experts in their field and have extensive experience.

(ii) Comprehensive Curriculum: The curriculum includes a wide spectrum of yoga practices, including asanas, pranayama, meditation, and yoga philosophy. The yoga education at the Bhavan is 75% practical and 25% theoretical. It covers the teaching of 12 types of yoga practices. Whether you are just starting with yoga or are an experienced practitioner, the course is tailored to individual needs and capabilities. While the course is open to everyone, those seeking certification must have at least a 10th-grade qualification.

(iii) Focus on Mental Health: In addition to physical postures, the Bhavan emphasizes techniques to achieve mental clarity and emotional balance while reducing stress.

(iv) Cultural Insight: Explore the cultural and spiritual dimensions of yoga and its deep-rooted traditions and values.

(v) Practical Application: The yoga program at the Bhavan consists of 75% practical training and 25% theoretical lessons. In the theoretical part, students learn to incorporate yoga into their daily lives, promoting a healthier lifestyle and increased self-awareness.

(vi) Duration: Completing the yoga program takes a minimum of 6 months and a maximum of 2 years, divided into 4 parts. The certificate in yoga can be obtained in just 6 months. However, for those aspiring to make a career in yoga, a commitment of up to 2 years is recommended.

Upon completing their yoga education at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, students have pursued careers as yoga instructors, researchers in yoga and natural medicine, yoga therapists, experts in psychological fields, and more.

Courses Offered:

(i) A 6-month Certificate Course in Yoga – Fee: INR 14,000/- (includes examination and certification)

(ii) A 1-year Diploma Course in Yoga – Fee: INR 28,000/- (payable in two installments)

(iii) A 6-month Advanced Certificate Course in Yoga

(iv) A 1-year Advanced Diploma Course in Yoga

Classes:

Yoga education is conducted at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan twice a week, on Saturdays and Sundays, from 7:00 AM to 9:00 AM. Students are expected to have a minimum attendance of 75% in the class. At the end of the program, there will be a written examination, and students need to obtain a minimum of 40% to pass.

Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan’s approach to yoga education not only fosters physical well-being but also emphasizes the mental and spiritual aspects of yoga, making it a comprehensive and holistic learning experience.
