According to the Vedic Panchang, Ram Navami is celebrated on the ninth day of the Shukla Paksha in the month of Chaitra. Devotees eagerly await this auspicious occasion every year, as it marks the birth of Lord Shri Ram, an event that is celebrated with great enthusiasm. It is believed that worshiping Lord Shri Ram on this day brings success and blessings in all endeavors. However, there are certain actions that could displease Lord Shri Ram, and it is important to be mindful of them. Here’s what you should do and avoid doing on Ram Navami.

Ram Navami 2025 Date and Auspicious Timings

According to the Vedic Panchang, the Navami tithi in Chaitra month will begin on 5th April at 7:26 PM and end on 6th April at 7:22 PM. Thus, Ram Navami will be celebrated on 6th April 2025.

Auspicious Timings:

– Brahma Muhurat: 4:34 AM to 5:20 AM
– Vijay Muhurat: 2:30 PM to 3:20 PM
– Godhuli Muhurat: 6:41 PM to 7:03 PM
– Nishita Muhurat: 12:00 AM to 12:46 AM

What to Do on Ram Navami

1. Begin with Devotion: Start your day by meditating on the name of Lord Shri Ram.
2. Take a Sacred Bath and Offer Arghya: After bathing, offer Arghya to the Sun God.
3. Perform Pooja: Light a lamp and perform the pooja with devotion. Offer food as bhog.
4. Chant Mantras and Recite Ram Charita Manas: During the pooja, chant mantras and recite the Ram Charita Manas.
5. Donate to the Needy: Contribute essential items or food to the poor.
6. Ensure Cleanliness: Pay special attention to cleanliness in the house and temple.
7. Water the Tulsi Plant and Perform Aarti: Offer water to the Tulsi plant and perform the Aarti with a lamp.

What Not to Do on Ram Navami

1. Avoid Tamsik Foods: Do not consume tamasic foods such as meat or alcohol.
2. Do Not Harbor Negative Thoughts: Avoid thinking negatively about others.
3. Avoid Arguments: Refrain from engaging in arguments or disputes on this sacred day.
4. Avoid Wearing Black Clothes During Pooja: It is considered inauspicious to wear black clothes during pooja.
5. Respect Elders and Women: Do not disrespect elders or women on this day.

Ram Navami is a sacred day dedicated to Lord Shri Ram, and by performing the appropriate rituals, devotees can invite his blessings for prosperity, peace, and success.
