New Delhi [India], October 5 (ANI): World Cerebral Palsy Day, a global observance dedicated to raising awareness about cerebral palsy (CP), its challenges, and the need for greater inclusion and support, is set to be celebrated on October 6th.

This day serves as a platform to shed light on CP’s impact on individuals, families, and communities, read the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment press release.

Cerebral palsy is a condition that can affect people of all ages and is often characterized by motor and sensory impairments. Those affected by CP may face unique challenges that can hinder their full participation in society.

World Cerebral Palsy Day aims to address these challenges and advocate for a more inclusive and understanding society.

The theme for World Cerebral Palsy Day in 2023 is “Together Stronger.” This theme underscores the importance of unity, collaboration, and mutual support within the cerebral palsy community and beyond, read the press release.

It highlights that when individuals, families, caregivers, and communities come together, they become a powerful force for positive change and inclusion.

The Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPwD) under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, plays a vital role in addressing the needs of persons with disabilities in the country, read the press release.

In line with its vision to raise awareness about cerebral palsy among the masses, the DEPwD is observing World Cerebral Palsy Day on October 6, 2023.

This observance includes conducting various events across the country to create greater awareness about cerebral palsy and the importance of supporting individuals living with this condition, read the release.

World Cerebral Palsy Day offers an opportunity for communities worldwide to come together, learn more about CP, and stand in solidarity with those affected by this condition.

By fostering greater understanding and inclusion, society can take significant steps toward improving the lives of individuals living with cerebral palsy. (ANI)
