Kota (Rajasthan) [India], October 18 (ANI): Launching a scathing attack on Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, Bharatiya Janata Party national president JP Nadda asserted on Wednesday that the women, youth, and farmers of Rajasthan are determined to oust the Congress government in the upcoming elections.

Rajasthan goes to the polls on November 25. The counting of votes will take place on 3 December.

Speaking to reporters in Kota, he emphasized that the people of Rajasthan feel deceived, with increasing crimes against women, betrayal of farmers and youth, and rampant corruption within the government.

“17 rapes against women have been reported every day in Rajasthan. The state alone accounts for 22 per cent of total rape cases. More than 15,000 minor rape cases have been reported. The Crime Records Bureau’s data states that Rajasthan is number one in crime against women,” Nadda said.

He also criticized the Gehlot government for issues such as ‘paper leaks’ and the confiscation and auctioning of more than 19,000 acres of farmers’ land.

“When I talk about the betrayal of the youth, 17 paper leaks happened, injustice has been done to more than 50 lakh youth…If we talk about farmers, the land of more than 19,000 farmers has been auctioned and confiscated,” the BJP chief said, adding that the youth and farmers of the state are waiting to give a befitting reply to the Congress government.

Nadda also said that the enthusiasm here in party workers is clearly telling that the people of Rajasthan have made up their minds to elect the BJP and have resolved that they want change in the poll-bound state.

The BJP is making significant efforts to secure victory and replace the Gehlot government.

Earlier on October 9, BJP released its first list of candidates for the Rajasthan Assembly elections in which the party has fielded seven Members of Parliament.

The counting of votes will take place on December 3. The Rajasthan Assembly consists of 200 constituencies that will be contested. (ANI)
