Don’t turn on your wet laptop while it’s drying. Wait at least 24 hours. Turning it on too soon can cause more damage and risk your files and laptop.
2. Avoid Cloth With Lint
Don’t use linty cloths on a wet laptop; they can make it worse. Use microfiber cloths and cotton earbuds for small, tricky spots to remove liquid safely.
3. Forget Hair Dryer
Never use a hairdryer’s hot air on your laptop; it can damage it and push liquid deeper. If needed, use low-pressure, cool air from a dehumidifier or fan.
4. Do Not Shake
Don’t shake your laptop to remove water; it can cause more damage. Instead, open it like a book upside down and let gravity help dry it out.
5. Don’t Use Rice
Putting a wet laptop in rice doesn’t help and isn’t recommended. It doesn’t fix the spill and can lead to more cleaning and possible damage to the laptop’s inside parts.
