Sheikh Jassim bin Mansour bin Jabor Al Thani, Chairman of the Web Summit Qatar Organising Committee, expressed confidence in Qatar’s readiness to host the inaugural edition of Web Summit in the Middle East and Africa. He underscored the event’s significance as an opportunity to showcase Qatar’s technological prowess to a diverse audience of industry leaders, startups, and investors.
The summit has attracted interest from prominent global entities such as Amazon, Meta, Google, and Shell, along with emerging startups like Replit. This strong participation underscores Qatar’s growing stature as a global tech hub and underscores the value that industry leaders place on engaging with the region’s burgeoning tech ecosystem.
Out of thousands of startup applications worldwide, 1,100 startups from 80 countries have been selected to participate in the event. These startups represent a diverse range of industries, highlighting the global appeal and inclusivity of Web Summit Qatar 2024. Among the participating countries are Qatar, the United States, Egypt, Brazil, Italy, Nigeria, the United Kingdom, and India, underscoring the event’s truly international scope.
