Dehradun, 30 August : The Special Task Force (STF) has busted a factory manufacturing spurious drugs under the drug-free campaign and arrested one. Along with this, a large consignment of fake antibiotics and raw materials from different companies worth more than Rs 25 lakh has been seized.
On the basis of confidential information, STF arrested accused Amit Dhiman, s/o Suresh Chandra, a resident of Matlabpur under the Ganganahar police station in Haridwar, with spurious medicine worth about 25 lakhs. He used to send consignments of spurious medicines to different states through couriers. STF action is going on on the spot. Other people involved in this business are being searched for.
Senior Superintendent of Police STF Ayush Aggarwal said that for a long time, STF was getting information regarding making fake medicine in the Haridwar area. On the basis of which the information was collected The STF unearthed a spurious drug factory in the house of the accused in village Matlabpur, Haridwar.
