Istanbul, 12 Sept (HS): A team of 200 international rescue operations saved an American researcher from one of Turkey’s deepest caves. Mark Dickey, 40, started suffering from internal bleeding in the Morca Cave during an exploration mission. He was in the cave for nine days before being rescued successfully.
Mark was seriously ill and became frail to make his own way out, media reports shared quoting Turkey Caving Federation. The Morca Cave is the third deepest cave in Turkey. Mark fell ill at 1,120 meter depth.
His rescue operation was one of the most difficult and complicated one so far. Dickey thanked the Turkey government for rescuing him. Dickey is an experienced researcher. He is secretary of a US Research Committee and trainer for Caves Protection Oranisations.
