The slain LeT terrorist, known by his code name “Qari,” had been actively operating in the Rajouri-Poonch region for the past year. He was not only a prominent figure within the extremist outfit but was also believed to be the mastermind behind several heinous attacks in the region, including the infamous Dangri and Kandi attacks. His primary mission was to revive terrorism in the area and orchestrate the use of improvised explosive devices (IEDs) to destabilize the region.
During the operation, security forces recovered incriminating materials, including a cache of arms and ammunition, from the terrorists’ hideout. The bodies of both the terrorists have been retrieved and are undergoing further medico-legal formalities by the police. The area is currently under thorough scrutiny to uncover any other potential threats, suspicious items, or support structures.
This successful operation comes shortly after another major encounter, just a week ago, where Kulgam Police, in collaboration with the Indian Army and CRPF, neutralized five terrorists in the Samno area of D.H Pora, Kulgam district. The operation, which commenced on November 16, led to the recovery of substantial incriminating materials.
The Indian security forces have been actively engaged in counter-terrorism efforts to ensure the safety and security of the region.
