Prime Minister Narendra Modi has lauded the budget presented today as an “inclusive and innovative budget” that goes beyond being merely an interim one. He expressed confidence in its continuity, emphasizing that it empowers all pillars of a developed India, including the youth, the poor, women, and farmers.
Prime Minister Modi commended Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for her vision, describing her budget as one aimed at building the nation’s future. He noted that this budget lays the foundation for a developed India by 2047.
Highlighting the aspirations of Young India, Prime Minister Modi pointed out two significant decisions in the budget. First, a fund of Rs. 1 lakh crore has been allocated for research and innovation, reflecting the government’s commitment to fostering innovation. Second, he highlighted the extension of tax exemptions for startups, a move aimed at promoting entrepreneurship and innovation.
While maintaining fiscal discipline, the Prime Minister highlighted the historic increase in total expenditure to Rs 11,11,111 crores in this budget. This substantial allocation is expected to create numerous employment opportunities for the youth and modern infrastructure for 21st-century India. He also mentioned plans to manufacture 40,000 modern bogies of Vande Bharat Standard for general passenger trains, enhancing travel comfort for millions of passengers.
Prime Minister Modi emphasized the government’s ambitious goals and its dedication to achieving them. He pointed out the construction of over 4 crore houses in villages and cities, with plans to build an additional 2 crore houses. The Prime Minister also highlighted efforts to empower women, increasing the target to make 3 crore ‘Lakhpatis’ among women.
The Prime Minister praised the Ayushman Bharat Yojana for its significant support to the poor, which has now been extended to Anganwadi and ASHA workers.
PM Modi reiterated the government’s focus on empowering the poor and middle class by creating new opportunities for them.
Prime Minister Modi also highlighted the income tax remission scheme, offering relief to approximately 1 crore middle-class citizens. He discussed key decisions benefiting farmers, such as the use of Nano DAP, a new scheme for animals, the expansion of PM Matsya Sampada Yojana, and the Atma Nirbhar oilseed campaign.
The Prime Minister concluded by extending his best wishes to all citizens on this historic budget, which he believes will play a pivotal role in shaping India’s future.
